Hello GitHub Community, I’m experiencing an issue where all of my historical GitHub contributions associated with one of my verified email addresses disappeared from my contribution graph. My GitHub username: Affected email: Here is what happened: On August 6, 2026, at approximately 2:21 AM, I accidentally removed the email address: This email address had previously been used as the author email for many of my Git commits. Shortly afterward, I added the EXACT SAME email address back to my GitHub account and verified it successfully. However, after re-adding the email, all historical contributions associated with that email disappeared from my contribution graph. This is NOT limited to one repository. Contributions from approximately 15+ repositories that were previously attributed to this email are affected. What I have already done:
Example affected commit:
From: Sohail Shabbir unknownperson23414@gmail.com The important point is that the email is now verified and attached to my account, but the historical contributions that were previously associated with this email are still missing. New commits are appearing correctly, so my account and contribution graph are currently working. The problem appears to be specifically with historical commits created before I removed and re-added the email address. I have also checked my GitHub email settings and the exact email address is currently present and verified. Has anyone experienced the same issue after accidentally removing and then re-adding a commit email address? Is there anything else I can do to restore the historical contributions, or does this require GitHub Support to manually rebuild/re-index the contribution history? I would really appreciate any advice or confirmation from someone who has experienced this before. Thank you! |

Username: aniketshukla1 I have at least five public pull requests authored by this account and marked merged: floci-io/floci#2031 |
|
Adding my case here since it matches what I've seen others reporting. I have 5 merged PRs that meet Pull Shark's criteria (authored by me, merged into the default branch of repos I don't own):
Verified commit email, "Show Achievements" enabled, no badge ever appeared. With the "Show Achievements" setting disabled, my profile shows a banner saying "You unlocked new Achievements on GitHub! Show them off by updating your Profile settings" pointing at the general achievements toggle. When I toggled that setting on, the banner changed to a different message: "You unlocked new Achievements with private contributions! Show them off by including private contributions in your Profile settings", pointing at a completely different setting. I enabled that too. Still nothing renders. So the backend appears to know achievements have unlocked (it's actively telling me so, twice, with two different explanations), but nothing is displaying regardless of which settings are toggled on or off. |
|
Please fix it. Everyone in the world is using GitHub, but you can't fix a simple issue. For me too, both badges are not showing |
|
I’m experiencing this as well. My GitHub profile is not displaying achievements that I should have unlocked, despite the relevant PRs being merged and my settings being enabled. This appears to match the profile/achievement rendering issue described here. Happy to provide specific PRs or other details if useful. |

Hi GitHub Community, I believe my issue may be related to this incident. My GitHub contribution graph is still showing contributions for commits that have already been removed from my repository history. The repository is I have verified that the remote repository is clean: git log origin/main --grep="test: activity"returns no results. git rev-list origin/main | wc -lreturns There are also no other remote branches containing those commits. However, the old contribution squares are still visible on my profile, even after more than 48 hours. When I click an affected day, it shows a contribution under So the contribution graph appears to be retaining stale contribution data for commits that are no longer present in the repository. I can provide screenshots of the affected contribution day and the unavailable commit if needed. Thanks! |

Hi GitHub team, I am experiencing the same profile achievement issue on @qingbo1011. "Show Achievements on my profile" is enabled and saved, but the Pull Shark achievement is still missing for both signed-in and public visitors. The following pull requests were authored by my account and merged by the upstream repository owner into the public repository default
The GitHub REST API reports both as merged, and GraphQL includes both pull requests in my contribution collection. More than 72 hours have passed since the second merge. However, my public profile still contains no native Achievements section or Pull Shark badge. Could you include this account in the profile achievement indexing investigation? Thank you. |
🆕 Community Manager Update: Monday August 17thHi everyone! Thank you for your patience and continuing to provide reports for this issue. The team is working on resolving this as soon as possible and I'll share more updates as they become available. |
|
Thank you for the update and for your continued work on this issue. The Achievements tab is now accessible on my profile, and I was also able to earn the Quickdraw achievement. However, the Pull Shark achievement is still not showing, despite my two pull requests having been successfully merged. It has now been six days since the qualifying pull requests were merged. Could you please confirm whether these pull requests meet the requirements for the Pull Shark achievement, or if there is any additional processing or delay that I should be aware of? Thank you again to the GitHub team for your time, support, and continued efforts to improve the platform. |

Hi GitHub team, I’m also experiencing this issue. I have 2 pull requests that were successfully merged into external repositories, but the Pull Shark achievement is still not appearing on my profile. My profile achievement settings are enabled. I’m sharing my case here as additional information for the investigation. Thank you for looking into this. |

Thanks for the update, hopefully Pair Extraordinaire gets fixed soon |

Adding another case for the achievement-delay investigation: @BekirEfeoglu
Could you check whether these events were processed for my account? Thanks. |

Hello GitHub Team, I'm experiencing an issue with achievements not appearing on my profile. My username is @michaelnaderi, and I have enabled "Show Achievements on my profile." On October 28, 2026, I successfully merged two pull requests into my public repository:
Both pull requests are marked as merged, but I have not received the Pull Shark achievement. I also created and closed an issue to qualify for Quickdraw, but that achievement has not appeared either. Could you please investigate whether my account is affected by the ongoing achievement-processing issue and whether these contributions qualify? Thank you for your assistance! |
|
Hi GitHub Team,
I wanted to follow up as my Pull Shark achievement is still missing as of 1 November 2026.
My second qualifying pull request was merged on 6 September 2026, almost two months ago. Both pull requests were successfully merged into the default branches of public repositories, yet the achievement has still not appeared on my profile.
On 24 September, you confirmed that GitHub was investigating achievement processing delays. However, more than five weeks have now passed since that update, and my issue remains unresolved despite this discussion being closed as resolved.
Could you please provide an update on the investigation? Is there any estimated timeline for a fix, and is there a way to have my account's achievement eligibility manually reviewed?
I would really appreciate your assistance, as I have been waiting for quite some time.
Thank you!

Subject: Re: [community/community] [Incident]: Profile rendering issues affecting GitHub profiles (Discussion #203416)
Hello GitHub Team,
I'm experiencing an issue with achievements not appearing on my profile.
My username is @michaelnaderi<https://github.com/michaelnaderi>, and I have enabled "Show Achievements on my profile."
On October 28, 2026, I successfully merged two pull requests into my public repository:
* PR #2<#2>: michaelnaderi/Google_Earth_Engine#2<michaelnaderi/Google_Earth_Engine#2>
* PR #3<#3>: michaelnaderi/Google_Earth_Engine#3<michaelnaderi/Google_Earth_Engine#3>

YOLO achievement not awarded after a qualifying PR merge Hi GitHub team, I'm experiencing an issue with the YOLO achievement not appearing on my profile.
The pull request appears to meet the requirements for the YOLO achievement, but the badge has not appeared on my profile. Given the ongoing achievement-processing incident (#203416), could you please check whether the qualifying merge event was processed correctly and whether my achievement records can be reprocessed or resynchronized? Thank you! |
|
I'm experiencing a similar issue with my historical contribution graph, and I believe it may be related to this incident. My GitHub username is I accidentally removed my primary commit email address, temporarily added it to another personal account, and then removed it from that account and re-added and verified it on my original account. Since then, my historical contributions have not been fully restored, even after more than 130 hours. I've verified that:
Interestingly, after pushing a new commit, the historical contributions in one repository reappeared, while another repository remained unaffected. I have around 40 repositories, so manually pushing new commits to all of them is not a practical solution. Could the team confirm whether this incident also affects historical contribution attribution after an email is removed and re-added? Is there any way to trigger a proper refresh of the historical contribution data? I've also opened a separate discussion with more details: https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/211738 Thank you for looking into this. |

Hello GitHub team, |
|
Hi GitHub team, I'd like to report two missing achievements on my profile, @kctong529: YOLO and Pair Extraordinaire. 1. YOLOI independently maintain kctong529/sisukas, a public repository without any official collaborators. I've authored and merged numerous PRs myself without requesting or receiving code reviews. I verified my 10 most recently merged PRs using the GitHub CLI, and all 10 were authored and merged by my account with zero submitted reviews. Examples:
Is requesting a reviewer first an additional requirement for YOLO? I've never requested one because I'm the sole maintainer. 2. Pair ExtraordinaireI also found several examples of co-authorship in TravelMapMory/mapmory-frontend, including commits where I'm credited as a co-author and a commit where I'm the author crediting someone else. A. Other contributors as authors, me as co-author I found 9 merged PRs whose final merge/squash commits were authored by other contributors and explicitly credit me through the following trailer: The affected PRs are:
For example, TravelMapMory/mapmory-frontend@0ba6c55, merged through PR #17, explicitly credits me as a co-author. B. Me as author, Claude as co-author There is also an example in the opposite direction in TravelMapMory/mapmory-frontend#33: the commit history includes a I recognize that AI attribution may not satisfy the achievement's eligibility requirements, but I'm including this as an additional example of co-authorship metadata. Despite these contributions, I haven't received the Pair Extraordinaire achievement. RequestCould you investigate whether these achievements are being processed correctly for my account, or clarify whether there are additional eligibility requirements? Thanks for looking into this! |
|
Same issue here with Pair Extraordinaire. It's stuck at the base tier.
Is there any update on when delayed tier upgrades will be processed? |
|
Hi GitHub team, I'm experiencing the missing Achievements section issue on my profile. GitHub username: @darshansahare Merged PRs:
Could you investigate whether achievement processing or the Achievements profile section is affected for my account? I'd appreciate clarification on whether this is part of the ongoing incident and whether any action is required from my side. Thank you! |
|
Hello GitHub Community, I merged my own Pull Request (#4) into the main branch without any human review. Repository: https://github.com/Priyanka170974/Event-Registration-Smart-Checkin The PR was successfully merged, but the YOLO achievement is still not appearing on my profile. I already have Quickdraw and Pull Shark achievements. Could someone please help me understand why YOLO hasn't been unlocked? Thank you! |
|
Hi everyone, I'm experiencing the same issue. My GitHub profile's Achievements section is completely missing, even though I've enabled the Show Achievements on my profile setting and saved my preferences several days ago. My GitHub username: Harish1685 I've had three merged pull requests, including:
Despite these contributions, my public profile still doesn't display the Achievements section. I've also tried accessing my achievements page directly: It returns a 404 error. I've verified that the visibility settings are enabled and waited several days, but nothing has changed. Could someone from GitHub confirm whether this is a known issue or whether there's something wrong with achievement generation or profile rendering for my account? Thanks! |
|
Hi GitHub team, my Pair Extraordinaire badge hasn’t appeared eight days after PR #3 was merged into main on October 27, 2026. It contains 10 coauthored commits, and GitHub correctly recognizes both authors. Could you check whether my account is affected by the achievement-processing delay or whether anything else is required? |
|
Account: @rokmc1893 I would appreciate an eligibility and processing check for Pull Shark tier progression and YOLO. I am reporting observable activity rather than assuming the community-documented thresholds guarantee an award. Current state, checked November 4, 2026:
Public evidence (all authored and merged by @rokmc1893 into main, with zero submitted reviews):
The changes implement a camera-recovery example, HTTP contract tests, and a working HTTPS demo. CI passed. I have not changed commit authorship or generated additional placeholder changes to trigger achievements. I saw the September 23 update in the official incident discussion: Could you please confirm whether my eligible Pull Shark and YOLO events are pending processing, whether any additional eligibility condition applies, and whether an account-level re-evaluation is available? I understand there may not be a fix timeline. This report intentionally contains only my public account and public PR links; private source code, private repository links and credentials are excluded. |

Hello GitHub team, I'd like to report another case that appears to be related to this ongoing profile rendering incident. GitHub username: @Blackpachamame On October 21, 2026, I removed an email address from my account and subsequently added and verified the exact same address again. Since then, my historical contribution graph has not been restored. I have verified that:
I also submitted GitHub Support ticket #4931893 with commit evidence and screenshots, but it was closed because my account only has access to self-service support resources. I found other reports with the same symptoms, including discussions #211738 and #211895. Could you please confirm whether this issue is related to incident #203416 and whether the historical contribution data for my account can be reprocessed? Thank you. |
