Prepares section 4 of the v2 plan after Track A PR #7, with six commits on v2-release. No publishing, uploads, tags, submissions or release workflow dispatches were performed.

Changes

  • Set app/About, AppStream and Windows package/EXE metadata to 2.0.0 (MSIX 2.0.0.0); derive Snap and Linux build versions from the app.
  • Add CHANGELOG with workbench, themes, command centre, Quick Open, Welcome and B1/B2/B4/B6/B7/B8/B9 fixes. B3 explicitly remains “coming in this release”.
  • Add seven native 1920×1080 numbered screenshots in store/screenshots-v2/, generated through tools/capture_v2.py --store: Welcome, editor/minimap, command centre, DSA, debugger, Turbo C and Light theme. Capture evidence documents real GDB, Python tracing and compiled graphics output.
  • Refresh README screenshot, features and direct Microsoft Store/Snap install links.
  • Add release metadata regression checks and docs/V2-RELEASE-PREP.md.

Validation

  • Offline python -m pytest -q: 110 passed, 1 skipped (network opt-in).
  • python -m pyflakes medha: clean.
  • Offscreen UI smoke: 20 passed.
  • Capture scripts, Linux builder and new release tests: pyflakes clean; git diff --check clean.
  • All seven screenshots visually inspected and dimensions checked.
  • Protected files unchanged: medha/terminal.py, tests/conftest.py, runner/project-manager/toolchain/debugger/Turbo tests, licenses, privacy and signing files.

Before publication

The base app and public Snap already reported 2.0.1. This PR follows the requested 2.0.0 target; resolve version ordering against existing packages before submission. B3 merge/verification remains pending; B5 remains separately tracked. Windows MSIX build/install/launch/uninstall, strict Snap package validation and the Windows/Ubuntu manual checklist are not completed by these Linux source checks. Verify these source screenshots against the Windows package. The existing Windows workflow can publish a GitHub Release even on manual dispatch, so it was not run.
