The final example currently opens a GPCP Zarr store that is no longer available.
This creates a small synthetic precipitation dataset locally, writes it as Zarr,
and reopens it with Xarray. The text explicitly says the values are synthetic
and that the example no longer depends on an external store.

The January-mean exercise is retained with wording matching the new sample.
The replacement demonstrates Xarray/Zarr round trips, not remote data access.

Validation on Windows, Python 3.12.16, Xarray 2025.7.0, Zarr 3.0.10 and
Dask 2025.5.1 (within the declared ranges), and separately with Xarray
2026.9.0 and Zarr 3.4.2:

  • All 54 cells execute. Two existing Unix shell inspection commands were
replaced by equivalent Python only in the temporary execution copy on Windows.
Those commands are unchanged in the source patch.
  • A separate check verifies dimensions, lazy chunks, units, exact round-trip
identity, expected January means and creation of the exercise plot.
  • The focused Jupyter Book preview builds with warnings treated as errors.
It is not a full upstream-site build.
  • Existing metadata and outputs are preserved; git diff --check passes.

Addresses #378.
